In order to address this reality, all members of the\u00a0Western Connecticut State University (&#8220;WCSU&#8221; or &#8220;University&#8221;) community and relevant outside agencies must work together. Public safety is everyone&#8217;s responsibility. By increasing your own knowledge and acknowledging your ability to make a difference at WCSU, you can begin to reduce the risk.<\/p>\n<p>Consider the following ways you can work to stop sexual violence and interpersonal violence at WCSU:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Speak up. Take a stand in situations that could escalate to sexual abuse\/interpersonal violence on and off campus.<\/li>\n<li>Talk openly with your close friends and family about these issues.<\/li>\n<li>Encourage student leaders, coaches, professors, and others to provide information about sexual assault and misconduct\u00a0to all WCSU students.<\/li>\n<li>Use the linked <a href=\"\/diversity\/carrt\/\">WCSU resources<\/a>\u00a0to inform yourself and any one you know in helping to plan activities and programs for WCSU<br \/>\ncampus clubs and organizations.<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t be afraid to get involved.<\/li>\n<li>Take care of yourself and your close friends and friends.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in the WCSU online training session called Not Anymore as well as other on-campus events and activities.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in the WCSU Operation Jungle Red events, Take Back the Night events and other represented events on campus.<\/li>\n<li>Click and download the <a href=\"https:\/\/pcpi.app.link\/?%24deeplink_path=chooseorg&amp;orgid=291&amp;sourceid=5&amp;edc=1428961050&amp;hash=4286886051&amp;_p=c11335dc9a027af3e4038cf5\">WCSU Live Safe app<\/a> for mobile users to access directed services with the WCSU Police Department and other campus offices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last updated: August 10, 2020 &nbsp; How Can I Help Stop Sexual Assault and Interpersonal Violence at WCSU?
