Whether you are entering a teacher preparation program or seeking your certification, these tests will help you on your journey to become a qualified educator.

Step 1: The Basics

Start here and create an account at ETS.

Many students use the Norwalk facility to test. The zip code is 06851 and the location is on Westport Avenue, just beyond Stew Leonard’s.

Some test from home. You will need to download an add-on called ProctorU.

Be sure to follow the directions and use a PC or Mac Computer and use a Chrome browser.

Tablets, Chromebooks, Mobile devices and Microsoft Surface Pro devices are not permitted.

Don’t forget to refer to your WCSU handbook timeline! You must take Praxis by a certain point.

Step 2: Start Planning and Staying Calm

Take great notes in class. Many content areas covered will appear on your tests.

There are free materials for you to study; many PDF guides and checklists of content are available to you on the ETS.org website

Consider creating a study plan. Students typically study 2-4 times per week, for 6-12 weeks, depending on the content review needed.

Use the Pomodoro technique; study in 25 minutes intervals. It is a medical school technique that is very effective. The WCSU Business School uses it too!

Relax using Theta waves as you study. Hearing these can maximize your memory and minimize your stress level.

Elementary Education Praxis Tracking 2025

Step 3: Gather Resources and Study!

Go to the Haas Library and visit the Front Desk.
