DESCRIPTION:RODGERS AND HAMMERSTEIN’S ALLEGRO: This ensemble musical chronicles nearly four decades in the life of an Everyman\, Joseph Taylor\, Jr.\, from cradle through a mid-life discovery of who he is and what his life is truly about. The first musical to be staged by a director who also served as choreographer (the legendary Agnes de Mille)\, Allegro follows a unique structural format traveling from Joe’s birth through his childhood\, from college dorm to marriage altar\, and on to his career; from the tranquility of his small Midwestern hometown to the hectic din of big city life\, in a series of vignettes and musical sequences dazzling in their simplicity and stunning in their impact. Ahead of its time theatrically\, Allegro remains timeless in its appeal. From 2 to 4:30 p.m. in the Main Stage Theater in the Visual and Performing Arts Building.

More than just a movie\, this is a Dirty Dancing Movie Party where you can sing along with the soundtrack\, quote the memorable lines\, and sway with Swayze! Come dressed in your favorite Catskills clothing and grab a themed prop pack when The Palace turns into  Kellerman’s. The dancers from Danbury’s Arthur Murray  Studio will be here too teaching the mambo and salsa!. At 7 p.m. at  The Palace Danbury Theater on Main Street. Tickets are $20 and prop packs are included.
