SUMMARY:WCSU Food Pantry
DESCRIPTION:WCSU FOOD PANTRY: The WCSU Food Pantry is now open for all students on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. \nThe WCSU Food Pantry is designed to provide support to students who are experiencing food insecurity for any reason. The WCSU Food Pantry is located in the Wolves Den in the lower level of the Midtown Student Center. Students may visit the WCSU Food Pantry once a week for up to twenty (20) items. We are also looking for volunteers to staff the WCSU Food Pantry. \nPlease contact the Dean of Students Office at (203) 837-9700 for more information. \nOn days the university is closed for holidays or inclement weather\, the food pantry will also be closed.

DESCRIPTION:CSO BRICK-PAINTING INTEREST EVENT: Help! There is a naked white wall in the Midtown Student Center’s Commuter Lounge that is in desperate need of some painting! With your contributions\, we will be able to give that wall a new makeover\, and turn it from drab to fab! This event will be a great opportunity for you to creatively express yourself\, leave your legacy at WCSU\, and contribute to the beautification of the university! Whether you consider yourself a great artist or not\, all are welcome to purchase a brick to paint on the Commuter Lounge’s wall! \nThe price per brick is $10\, and bricks will be limited to one per person. There are only 100 bricks available for purchase at this event. To sign up\, please provide us your contact information (i.e. full name\, WCSU email\, etc.)\, and submit a rough draft and/or description of what you will be painting on your brick in the linked form. So\, fill out the form as soon as possible to secure your spot in this once-in-a-lifetime event!

DESCRIPTION:2023 MFA THESIS EXHIBITION: The Department of Art at Western Connecticut State University is pleased to announce the 2023 Master of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibition. It will take place in The Gallery at the Visual and Performing Arts Center. \nAn opening reception\, co-sponsored by the Department of Art and the Alumni Association\, will be held on Thursday\, March 23\, from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition will run from March 23 through April 6. The reception and exhibition are free and open to the public. The gallery will be open for viewing from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and on Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. \nThe Master of Fine Arts is the terminal degree for practicing professional artists. The MFA Thesis Exhibition is the capstone experience of the graduate program\, demonstrating a personal direction and mastery in the work of the artists. Four graduate students will present their thesis work this year: Dan Baker- MFA Interdisciplinary Visual Art\, Marcus Escribano- MFA Interdisciplinary Visual Art\, Lilah Heyman- MFA Painting\, and Aimee Jette- MFA Interdisciplinary Visual Art.

DESCRIPTION:MIDTOWN COFFEEHOUSE: Thursdays from 8 to 10 p.m. in the Wolves Den\, the lower level of the Midtown Student Center. There is open mic from 8 to 9 p.m. Sign-up for that starts at 7:30 p.m. The Feature Act starts at 9 p.m. \nAre you tired of spending your evenings alone in your room?\nAre you looking to meet new people\, listen to music?\nDo you enjoy going to concerts and free events with free food?\nAre you interested in sharing your talents or enjoy watching others perform during open mic? \nIf you answered ‘yes’ to any of the questions above\, then the Midtown Coffeehouse is the place for you. Coffeehouse is every Thursday night from 8-10 p.m. in the Midtown Student Center Wolves Den.
