SUMMARY:Afghan Potter
DESCRIPTION:MATIN MALIKZADA\, AFGHAN POTTER – TALK AND DEMONSTRATION: Matin is a seventh-generation Afghan master of traditional pottery\, internationally recognized for his technical skill and elegant designs. A native of Istalif\, Afghanistan\, once a vibrant center of ceramic art and commerce\, Matin was forced to flee Afghanistan following the Taliban takeover. Along with his family\, he resettled in New Milford\, where he has established himself as an active artist in the region. The event will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon in White Hall 017 and is sponsored by the Office of Diversity\, the WCSU Muslim Student Association\, and the Department of Art. Professor Jurg Lanzrein\, the beloved WCSU ceramics instructor will be on hand as well.

DESCRIPTION:CSO BRICK-PAINTING INTEREST EVENT: Help! There is a naked white wall in the Midtown Student Center’s Commuter Lounge that is in desperate need of some painting! With your contributions\, we will be able to give that wall a new makeover\, and turn it from drab to fab! This event will be a great opportunity for you to creatively express yourself\, leave your legacy at WCSU\, and contribute to the beautification of the university! Whether you consider yourself a great artist or not\, all are welcome to purchase a brick to paint on the Commuter Lounge’s wall! \nThe price per brick is $10\, and bricks will be limited to one per person. There are only 100 bricks available for purchase at this event. To sign up\, please provide us your contact information (i.e. full name\, WCSU email\, etc.)\, and submit a rough draft and/or description of what you will be painting on your brick in the linked form.
