DESCRIPTION:HACU WEBINAR – UNDOCUMENTED & DACE STUDENTS – LEGAL AND POLICY UPDATES FOR HIGHER EDUCATION: The Office of Diversity\, Equity\, and Inclusion is promoting this virtual webinar from HACU (Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities). \nThe Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities will host a webinar titled\, “Undocumented & DACA Students: Legal and Policy Updates for Higher Education Institutions\,” for HACU-members\, on Dec. 3 at 12:40 p.m.  \nThis informational webinar will explore the latest developments affecting undocumented and DACA students in higher education\, with a focus on emerging policies\, challenges\, and opportunities. With ongoing legal uncertainty and evolving policy landscapes\, it is critical for colleges and universities to stay informed and responsive. Experts from Fwd.us\, the Immigrant Legal Resource Center\, the National Immigration Law Center and RAICES will provide timely updates\, clarify implications for campus communities\, and share actionable strategies and resources to help institutions effectively support undocumented and DACA students. DESCRIPTION:POOR YORICK – WRITERS’ OPEN MIC: Join WCSU’s Department of Creative & Professional Writing Program for a Writers’ Open Mic with Pop-up Book Shop and Featured Reader\, Lisa Acerbo\, from 3-5 p.m. at The Market at The Meetinghouse\, located at 602 Ridgebury Road in Ridgefield — just a 12-minute drive from the WCSU Westside campus! \nHosted by Poor Yorick\, the program’s literary journal\, this event celebrates both WCSU’s lifelong community of writers and the vibrant literary voices of the Greater Danbury Area. We’re excited to share our program’s long-standing tradition of these open mics with the local community beyond the boundaries of our campus with an evening of storytelling\, poetry\, and prose of every kind at The Market at The Meetinghouse. This event will feature a Pop-up Book Shop hosted by Rainy Day Paperback Exchange of Bethel\, offering a curated selection of used books. \nFeatured Reader: Lisa Acerbo\nLisa Acerbo\, MFA\, EdD\, is the Director of General Education at Post University. Her short stories and poetry appear in Scarlet\, Poor Yorick Literary Journal\, Ripples in Space\, and Universe in a Bottle\, among others. Her novel\, Death and Coffee\, was released on October 14\, 2025\, by NineStar Press. Her YA fantasy novel\, The Netherworld Witch\, will arrive in 2026. \n———————————————————- \nThis event is open to the public!
