SUMMARY:Ninth Tri-State Weather Conference
DESCRIPTION:NINTH TRI-STATE WEATHER CONFERENCE: The Ninth Tri-State Weather Conference will be held from 8:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. in the Science Building\, Room 125\, on the WCSU Midtown campus. Continental breakfast will be served from 8:15 to 9 a.m. in the Science Building Atrium. Please arrive early for check-in and breakfast. \nThe conference is presented by the Meteorology Program at Western Connecticut State University and co-sponsored by the WCSU Student Chapter of the AMS\, the New York City/Long Island Chapter of the AMS\, NOAA/National Weather Service/Upton\, NY\, NOAA/National Weather Service/Albany\, NY\, NOAA and the National Weather Service/Boston/Norton\, MA. NOAA. The purpose of the conference is to enhance education\, professional development\, and communication among private and public sector meteorologists\, researchers\, educators\, students\, emergency management officials\, and weather enthusiasts. \nSubmissions\, in the form of posters\, are being solicited on high-impact weather events that affect the Tri-State region of New York\, New Jersey\, and Connecticut. Potential topics would include but are not limited to\, nor‘easters and winter weather\, severe thunderstorms\, tropical weather and hurricanes\, climate change\, and mesoscale meteorology.
