SUMMARY:Musical Evening with Rick Reyes
DESCRIPTION:MUSICAL EVENING WITH RICK REYES: Join the Office of Diversity\, Equity\, and Inclusion and City Center Danbury as we welcome musician Rick Reyes to Danbury from 6 to 8 p.m. at the City Center Green. \nKnown for his powerful storytelling and dynamic performances\, Reyes blends traditional Puerto Rican sounds with salsa\, merengue\, Latin jazz\, and American folk influences. His music honors the richness of his heritage while also carrying messages of social justice\, cultural pride\, and community connection. As part of Hispanic Heritage Month\, this performance is more than entertainment\, it’s a celebration of identity\, tradition\, and the lasting contributions of the Hispanic community. \nReyes is a Bridgeport-born troubadour\, songwriter\, and storyteller whose music blends Puerto Rican folk traditions with rock\, salsa\, Latin jazz\, and socially conscious themes. Drawing from his upbringing in Puerto Rico and experiences of identity\, resilience\, and justice\, Reyes creates powerful songs that honor heritage while inspiring hope. Through projects like the Cosmic Jíbaros\, Pasofino Social Club\, and Novela Sin Tiempo\, his work celebrates culture\, community\, and the courage to dream. His latest project\, The Puerto Rican Song Book\, uplifts the voices and history of Puerto Rican singer-songwriters\, offering audiences both music and meaning.
