SUMMARY:Macricostas Midnight Hike
DESCRIPTION:MACRICOSTAS MIDNIGHT HIKE: Join members of the Adventure Club on a “midnight hike” starting at 6:30 p.m. at the below location. Make sure to follow the instructions below if you want to participate. \nMacricostas Preserve Coordinates: 41.682860\, -73.333694 \nWhat to wear: \n\nFootwear with grippy soles\nShorts/pants appropriate for hiking\n\nWhat to consider: \n\nSnack/dinner/something to eat\nFirst aid kit\nTrekking poles\n\nWhat to avoid: \n\nCotton. It kills. It does not wick moisture and it does not dry.\n\nWhat to bring: \n\nSmall backpack/day pack\nPreferably a headlamp. If not available\, a flashlight. The phone should NOT be your light source\nWater\nLong sleeve shirt/light sweatshirt for when the sun sets\n\nWords of advice: \n\nThe ascent is steep. Avoid sweating by managing your layers while hiking. The ground may be wet or slippery. Flat-soled shoes are guaranteed to have you on your rear end. Leave them home.\nThe Pinnacle is exposed. There is always a breeze and it will get colder when the sun goes down. A headlamp offers a hands-free operation. You will need your hands to maintain your balance during the descent or to hold on to your trekking poles.\nLeave No Trace. Pack out what you pack in. Finally\, remember to stay up to date with information and cancellations on the WAC Instagram (@wcsu_wac)
