DESCRIPTION:WESTERN RESEARCH DAY: Western Research Day\, an annual event where WCSU undergraduate and graduate students officially present their research and other creative projects\, will be held on Friday\, May 3\, and the public is invited to attend to learn from this scholarship and hear keynote speaker Dr. Albert Garcia-Romeu. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Science Building on the Midtown campus. Awards will be presented to students receiving the highest score for their work and presentations. The day’s schedule will feature Opening Remarks and Keynote Address at 10 a.m.\, Poster Session from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.\, Light Refreshments from 12:30 to 1 p.m.\, and Closing Remarks and Provost Awards from 1 to 1:30 p.m. The public is invited. \n

SUMMARY:Media Arts Film Festival
DESCRIPTION:MEDIA ARTS FILM FESTIVAL: The WCSU Media Arts Film Festival & Digital Interactive Exhibition will begin with a 6 p.m. reception and Digital Interactive Media Arts Exhibition in the Midtown Student Center lobby\, and a 7 p.m. film screening and awards ceremony in the Midtown Student Center Theater. The festival is free and open to the public; formal attire is encouraged\, but not required. There will be hot and sweet refreshments and a cash bar during the reception. \nSponsored by the BEA Student Media Club\, WCSU Alumni Association\, and Department of Communication & Media Arts\, the event will culminate with awards for best short films\, documentaries\, news\, screenplays\, animation\, interactive media\, soundscapes and music videos. The judging panel includes faculty\, media professionals\, and WCSU alumni.
