DESCRIPTION:THE LATE-SUMMER SKY – PLANETARIUM SHOW: WCSU Planetarium live presentations will highlight interesting celestial events of the month. Admission is free and the public is invited\, but online advanced reservations are required due to the limited seating in the planetarium. Seating capacity for each show is 40. Children ages 8 and up / No Food or Beverages allowed inside. From 2 to 3 p.m. in the WCSU Observatory and Planetarium on the Westside campus. \nRegister at https://wcsutickets.regfox.com/wcsu-planetarium-shows-summer-2024 \n  \nPlease note that there is no parking at the Planetarium and Observatory building. Visitors must park elsewhere on the Westside campus and walk steeply uphill to the building. Please take this into consideration when deciding whether to attend this event.

DESCRIPTION:MFA IN CREATIVE AND PROFESSIONAL WRITING WELCOME BACK EVENT AT AQUILA’S NEST VINEYARDS: Come join Western Connecticut State University’s MFA in Creative and Professional Writing in kicking off the fall 2024 semester and celebrating their 20th anniversary at noon at Aquila’s Nest Vineyards\, 56 Pole Bridge Road\, Newtown. All are welcome – current students\, faculty\, alumni\, and prospective students. Come learn more about our unique low-residency program\, which offers week-long residencies in Oscar Wilde’s historic home in Dublin\, the Highlights Retreat Center in the Pocono Mountains\, and on WCSU’s campus in Danbury. \nWine is not included in the ticket. A drink purchase of a minimum $10 plus tax and gratuity per participant is required to attend this event and can be made at the vineyard prior to the start of the event\, after our staff checks your ID. Aquila’s Nest has many non-alcoholic options as well. \nOutside alcohol beverages\, water bottles or any other beverages are NOT allowed to be brought in the premises of the vineyard. This is a restriction of our Farm Winery Permit. Our staff reserves the right to check bags and coolers. \nAll participants must be 21 years of age or older.
