DESCRIPTION:POETRY READING AND GALLERY OPENING: CSU Professor of Creative and Professional Writing and Kathwari Honors House Director Dr. Brian Clements will participate in the grand opening of the Four Monkeys Art Gallery at Innovation Studios\, 18 Old Ridgebury Road in Danbury. From 4 to 6 p.m.\, the event will feature art\, live music and ekphrastic poetry. Clements will read his poem\, which also will be on display next to its inspiration\, “Flow\,” by WCSU alum painter Casey Lerner. The public is invited. \n  \n \n

DESCRIPTION:IN THEIR SHOES – AUTHOR TALK WITH JOANNA DREBY: Join students\, faculty\, and staff for a special program in partnership with The WCSU Libraries\, WCSU UndocuAlly\, Ben & Jerry’s\, CT Students for a Dream\, and ALCU Connecticut! \nIn “Surviving the ICE Age\,” sociologist Joanna Dreby draws on interviews with young adults with foreign-born parents to better understand what it was like to grow up during a time of heightened U.S. migratory control. Dreby also highlights stories that offer hope.
