DESCRIPTION:DISABILITY PRIDE – INCLUSION AND BELONGING TRAINING: The Office of Diversity\, Equity\, and Inclusion is promoting this virtual training from Leaders for Inclusion (LFI). \nJoin us for a presentation hosted by staff of Michigan Disability Right Coalition’s Leaders For Inclusion (LFI) Program . During the presentation\, LFI will discuss ways community organizations can become more authentically inclusive of people with disabilities\, not only in terms of physical access but in planning and programming and ensuring people with disabilities’ voices are at the table and heard. LFI will discuss topics such as Disability History and Pride\, Ableism\, Inclusion\, Belonging\, and steps toward making your organization more inclusive. Our services also include technical assistance\, follow up and accountability after training as organizations and professionals journey to become more inclusive. \nDuring this session you will learn about: \nDisability History and Pride\nAbleism\nLanguage and Accessibility\nInclusion Scale\nCreating space for belonging \nWho should attend? We want to connect with organizations\, companies\, businesses\, and non-profits that serve the community. Individuals that are a part of an organization\, committee\, or board that can create access for people with disabilities\, this training is a good introduction to creating inclusive spaces. SUMMARY:The Fundamentals of Public-Private Partnerships Introductory Workshop
DESCRIPTION:THE FUNDAMENTALS OF PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS INTRODUCTORY WORKSHOP: This complimentary one-day workshop will provide foundational knowledge through targeted education to mayors and their staff on the subject of Public-Private Partnerships (P3s). Private industry experts will explore the possibilities of P3 before discussing your city’s infrastructure challenges\, and any project proposals or ideas you might have. On completion\, participants will earn certification in P3 fundamentals. \nWho should attend: mayors\, deputy mayors\, city managers\, assistant city managers\, chiefs of staff\, department directors\, and city employees involved in public works; community development; economic development; mass transit\, airports and ports; utility water systems; or facilities management. \nThe workshop is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Westside Campus Center Ballroom on the Western Connecticut State University Westside campus\, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury.
