SUMMARY:Meditation Circle
DESCRIPTION:MEDITATION CIRCLE FOR WORLD PEACE AND HEALING – CONNECT WITH A PURPOSE: An event occurring on the third Saturday of every month from 7-8 p.m. \nThe disconnection that we feel with the world around us can be healed as we deepen the connection with ourselves. Unite in harmony to balance the body\, mind\, heart and spirit through meditation and prayer. Connect to yourself with a purpose\, and create what you individually need to achieve wholeness within. Allow this state of wholeness to be an opportunity for self-healing and the healing of others. \nAs the healing light enters into ourselves\, we are able to graciously channel it in a way that brings healing to all things across the Earth. \nWhat to expect from this mediation circle? \n1. Peaceful Community Building: Build a community that serves to bring peace and healing to all of humanity through meditation and prayer.\n2. Anxiety & Stress Relief: Learn and practice a variety of meditation techniques that help to reduce stress and promote relaxation.\n3. Meditation Myth-Busters: Debunk common misconceptions regarding the practice of meditation\, and break through conditional barriers to enhance meditation practice.\n4. Nurturing Growth: Create an environment that inspires personal and spiritual healing and development. \nIt is recommended that attendees come with personal-related\, community-related\, or global-related things that they would like to send healing and peace to. \nThis group understands that everyone is at different stages along his/her personal and spiritual growth and healing processes. As such\, participants are reminded to help create a peaceful and accepting environment that nurtures all people and the many stages of growth\, learning\, and healing.  \nEmbody compassion\, love\, kindness\, non-judgement\, respect\, and patience\, with yourself and others. \nThis virtual event is hosted by Natalie Nevola\, undergraduate student and Reiki Practitioner. \nJoin Zoom Meeting for Meditation Circle for World Peace and Healing at \nTopic: Meditation Circle\nTime: This is a recurring meeting on the third Saturday of every month @ 7:00 PM EST – 7:30 PM EST until December 17th\, 2022. \nJoin Zoom Meeting \nhttps://us05web.zoom.us/j/4819668061?pwd=UExEUlNnS3F1WlVwdExFemhCdERQZz09 \nMeeting ID: 481 966 8061\nPasscode: 6j3gkx \nOpen to WCSU students\, faculty\, staff and their families and friends. \nContact Information \nEmail: natalierose144@gmail.com\, or nevola002@wcsu.edu \n

SUMMARY:Community Conversation
DESCRIPTION:COMMUNITY CONVERSATION: KEELER TAVERN MUSEUM & HISTORY CENTER’S SITE HISTORY: Join Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center  at 7 p.m. for a virtual presentation and discussion with Dr. Leslie Lindenauer\, professor of History at Western Connecticut State University\, and Shannon Burke\, interpretive consultant at KTM&HC. \nThis free program\, open to all\, provides an opportunity for the public to learn\, ask questions and make suggestions about our museum’s site history and future possibilities for interpretation. \nLast year\, KTM&HC commissioned Dr. Lindenauer to research and write a site history of our museum: a report that\, in her words\, focusing on “how to capitalize more intentionally on the rich history that Keeler Tavern Museum is a steward of; to suggest a pivot in the narrative that overlays key themes onto that history; to lean into the history that is difficult or uncomfortable to address; and to promote the Museum’s stories in ways that help the community to identify fruitful links between the past and present.” At this program\, Dr. Lindenauer will present her findings\, followed by a Q&A with the audience that will be moderated by Ms. Burke. \nThis community conversation is part of KTM&HC’s NEH-funded reinterpretation project\, which seeks to develop a more inclusive interpretive plan for the museum\, focused on themes of American identity and memory. Executive Director Hildegard Grob encouraged broad community participation: “Whether you’re deeply familiar with KTM&HC or have never visited\, whether you’re local or live far away\, we invite you to learn about the museum’s history and join the discussion\, helping us chart a path for future interpretive and programmatic choices that resonate with our audiences.” \n“Community Conversation: KTM&HC’s Site History” is a free virtual program\, and registration is required. Register on our website at www.keelertavernmuseum.org/events. \n Additional information\, including updates about on-site and virtual programming and events\, can be found at keelertavernmuseum.org\, @KeelerTavernMuseum on Facebook and Instagram\, @KeelerTavern on Twitter\, or by emailing info@keelertavernmuseum.org.
