SUMMARY:FAIRVIEW
DESCRIPTION:FAIRVIEW: The WCSU Theatre Department will be performing “Fairview” from 8 to 10:30 p.m. in the Studio Theatre in the Visual and Performing Arts Center. \nAbout the show: \nAt the Frasier household\, preparations for Grandma’s birthday party are underway. Beverly is holding on to her sanity by a thread to make sure this party is perfect\, but her sister can’t be bothered to help\, her husband doesn’t seem to listen\, her brother is MIA\, her daughter is a teenager\, and maybe nothing is what it seems in the first place…! FAIRVIEW is a searing examination of families\, drama\, family dramas\, and the insidiousness of white supremacy. \nWinner of the 2019 Pulitzer Prize. “…dazzling and ruthless…one of the most exquisitely and systematically arranged ambushes of an unsuspecting audience in years…FAIRVIEW is a series of perspective-altering surprises\, and they keep coming at you even when you think [Drury] must surely have emptied [her] bag of tricks…a glorious\, scary reminder of the unmatched power of live theater to rattle\, roil and shake us wide awake.” —The New York Times.

SUMMARY:Allegro
DESCRIPTION:RODGERS AND HAMMERSTEIN’S ALLEGRO: This ensemble musical chronicles nearly four decades in the life of an Everyman\, Joseph Taylor\, Jr.\, from cradle through a mid-life discovery of who he is and what his life is truly about. The first musical to be staged by a director who also served as choreographer (the legendary Agnes de Mille)\, Allegro follows a unique structural format traveling from Joe’s birth through his childhood\, from college dorm to marriage altar\, and on to his career; from the tranquility of his small Midwestern hometown to the hectic din of big city life\, in a series of vignettes and musical sequences dazzling in their simplicity and stunning in their impact. Ahead of its time theatrically\, Allegro remains timeless in its appeal. From 2 to 4:30 p.m. in the Main Stage Theater in the Visual and Performing Arts Building.

SUMMARY:Season's Greetings
DESCRIPTION:SEASON’S GREETINGS:  \nSeason’s Greetings\nWritten by Alan Ayckbourn\nSeason’s Greetings is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French\, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com\nDirector: Cady Huffman\nScenic Designer: Elizabeth Popiel. Lighting Designer: Scott Cally. Costume Designer: Mary Donovan. Technical Director: Jason Jossick. Production Stage Manager: Iziah Barnes. \nPresented in the MainStage Theatre at the Visual and Performing Arts Center at WCSU. Runs December 2\, 3 and 4. Show times vary. \nAbout the Show\nHalf a dozen friends and relatives are celebrating Christmas with Neville and Belinda. Various children are also there and\, though unseen\, their presence is always felt. Petty squabbles break out and some not so petty. The arrival of Clive\, a young writer\, leads to what momentarily appears to be a tragedy: Clive is shot by trigger happy Harvey who thinks he is a burglar.
