SUMMARY:A Midsummer Night's Dream
DESCRIPTION:A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM: The WCSU Department of Theatre Arts will present William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream\,” directed by Pam McDaniel\, in the MainStage Theatre in the Visual and Performing Arts Center on the Westside campus. This production was originally presented virtually as part of our Spring Virtual Production Series\, and will be adapted for the stage and presented as our first live event since March 2020. Please note that audience members must be masked at all times inside the Visual and Performing Arts Center without exception. In addition\, we will enforce three-foot social distancing\, and as such\, seating inside the theatre is limited to every other seat. Because of the reduced capacity of the theatre\, we ask all patrons to purchase their ticket in advance on Eventbrite. Shows are likely to sell out\, so do not wait to purchase at the box office before the show. The box office only accepts cash or check\, and tickets are subject to higher charges at the door as opposed to online. There is no pod seating or reserved seating\, it is general admission. Every other seat inside the theatre will be designated for no seating. WCSU students can reserve their free ticket at the box office before the show begins by showing their student I.D. \nOne of Shakespeare’s most popular and acclaimed comedies\, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” tells the tale of love and marriage\, order and disorder\, and perception and reality. The play consists of four interconnecting plots\, connected by a celebration of the wedding of Duke Theseus of Athens and the Amazon queen\, Hippolyta\, which are set simultaneously in the woodland and in the realm of Fairyland\, under the light of the moon. Join us for this one-of-a-kind live production of one of Shakespeare’s finest plays! \nGet tickets at www.eventbrite.com/e/a-midsummer-nights-dream-tickets-166170034045.
