There is about 30 that need your help.  To paint a brick it will be 10 dollars; you can pay cash\, Zelle\, Venmo\, ApplePay\, or CashApp. The times will be from October 4 to October 26 ONLY\, Wednesdays from 1-3 p.m. and Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. If those times don’t work for you\, email cso@wcsu.edu or sorianopaulino001@wcsu.edu to arrange a time to finish your brick. \nCome and leave a mark.

DESCRIPTION:COMMUNICATION\, MEDIA ARTS AND CREATIVE/PROFESSIONAL WRITING PREVIEW DAY: The Communication\, Media Arts and Professional Writing Preview Day is an opportunity for students who are interested in Communication Studies\, Media Arts\, Digital and Interactive Media Arts and Professional Writing to come to campus and learn more about these programs at WCSU.  An Admissions Counselor and the Dean of the School of Visual and Performing Arts will provide a welcome and presentation. Students and families will then be broken up by anticipated major to hear from faculty and current WCSU students. DESCRIPTION:VISITING ARTIST LECTURE\, WILL HUTNICK\, ARTIST/CURATOR: 11 a.m.\, Visual & Performing Arts Center\, Room 144\, WCSU Westside campus. Free and open to the public\, but limited seating available. \nWill Hutnick is an artist and curator based in Wassaic\, New York. He received his M.F.A. from Pratt Institute in 2011 and his B.A. from Providence College in 2007. He is a 2021 NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellow in Painting\, and a recipient of grants from the Berkshire Taconic Foundation in 2017 and Foundation for Contemporary Arts in 2016. \nHutnick’s work has been in solo exhibitions at Pamela Salisbury Gallery\, Elijah Wheat Showroom\, Standard Space\, Providence College Galleries\, One River School\, The Java Project\, and St. Thomas Aquinas College. Group exhibitions include: Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art\, Hollis Taggart\, Heaven Gallery and Geary Contemporary. \nHutnick has been awarded numerous artist-in-residencies\, including Yaddo\, Elizabeth Murray Artist Residency\, Vermont Studio Center\, Hambidge Center for the Creative Arts and Sciences\, and others. He has also been a curator-in-residence at Benaco Arte and at Trestle Projects\, and has curated exhibitions at SPRING/BREAK Art Show\, Pratt Institute\, and Wassaic Project\, among others. \nFrom 2015 – 2020\, Hutnick was one of the co-directors of Ortega y Gasset Projects\, an artist-run curatorial collective and exhibition space in Brooklyn. He is currently the Director of Artistic Programming at the Wassaic Project\, a nonprofit organization that uses art and art education to foster positive social change.

A VERY NEW MUSICAL: Set in the 1590s\, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star known as “The Bard.” When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing\, dancing\, and acting at the same time\, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical. Something Rotten! promises laughs\, spectacle… and all that jazz. Performed by WCSU students in the Department of Theatre Arts on the Main Stage Theatre of the Visual and Performing Arts Center from 8 to 10:30 p.m. \nSpecial student preview night.
