SUMMARY:Visiting Artist Lecture - Jim Lee\, Interdisciplinary Artist
DESCRIPTION:VISITING ARTIST LECTURE – JIM LEE\, INTERDISCIPLINARY ARTIST:\nTue\, February 4\, 11 a.m. \nVisual & Performing Arts Center\nWCSU\, Westside campus\, room 144\nFree & Open to the Public\nLimited Seating Available\nRSVP required \nJim Lee is an interdisciplinary artist working with multiple materials and forms. Born in Berrien Springs\, Michigan\, he received his B.A. degree from Hope College (Michigan) and his M.F..A degree from the University of Delaware. He lives and works in Brooklyn\, New York\, and is a professor of painting and drawing at Hofstra University. Since 1998\, Lee’s work has been shown throughout the U.S. in galleries and museums\, including the Neuberger Museum of Art and the Islip Art Museum. \nInternational exhibitions have been held in England\, France\, Belgium\, Germany\, and Japan. He is represented by Nicelle Beauchene Gallery in NYC\, where he has had six solo shows\, most recently in September 2024. SUMMARY:HACU Webinar - Current Challenges Facing Academic Leaders
DESCRIPTION:HACU WEBINAR – CURRENT CHALLENGES FACING ACADEMIC LEADERS: Colleges and universities are facing daunting challenges\, including a growing sentiment that academic institutions are failing to provide sufficient value compared to the cost of tuition – commonly referred to as the value proposition. Academic leaders are also grappling with the impact that artificial intelligence will have on both course delivery and leadership\, perhaps making AI more daunting than the distance education revolution. \nAlthough case studies or anecdotes are valuable when facing these new challenges\, they are typically based on a small sample for analysis. This presentation will explore what the larger sample and meta-analytic empirical research on the outcome of different leadership styles reveals. The presentation will review transformational\, servant\, authentic\, task-oriented\, and person-oriented leadership styles. \nThis virtual event will be at 1 p.m. To register for the webinar\, go to https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_8d2RjllTSIOWr9qRMGtu3g#/registration
