DESCRIPTION:CAMPUS VISIT BY CSCU PRESIDENT TERRENCE CHENG: Terrence Cheng\, president of the Connecticut State Colleges & Universities System\, will visit our campus on Friday\, Nov. 19.  He has asked us to organize sessions for him to speak with faculty\, staff\, and students so that he can learn more about our university and its challenges and opportunities\, as well as individuals’ views of WCSU. \nOne session each will be held for faculty and staff in the Student Center Theater on the Midtown campus. The meetings are open to all and will be streamed live and for viewing afterward. \nThe Student Government Association has invited President Cheng to a meeting of the SGA Senate and also to a luncheon of select students. \nThe schedule for the faculty and staff meetings in the Student Center Theater are: \n\nStaff\, 10 to 11 a.m.\nFaculty\, 11 a.m. to noon\n\nLinks to the streamed version will be provided before Nov. 19. \nAfter the faculty session\, President Cheng will proceed to lunch and a meeting with student representatives and will also meet virtually with the WCSU Foundation Board of Directors. \n  \nOpen to WCSU faculty\, staff and students only.

DESCRIPTION:INFORMATION SESSION AND TOUR OF BOTH WCSU LOCATIONS: Check-in will begin at 9:30 a.m. in Higgins Hall on the Midtown location located at 181 White St. in Danbury. An information session will be given by an Admissions Counselor at 10 a.m.\, followed by a tour of our Midtown location. Directly following the Midtown tour\, guests will have the option to drive to our Westside location for a tour. Westside location directions will be provided to guests during the check-in process. \nIn order to maintain the safety of our students and staff\, the following guidelines must be met: \n• All visitors must register in advance to attend a campus visit. Tours will be limited to one student and two guests to allow for social distancing. DESCRIPTION:MEDITATION CIRCLE FOR WORLD PEACE AND HEALING – CONNECT WITH A PURPOSE: An event occurring on the third Saturday of every month from 7-8 p.m. \nThe disconnection that we feel with the world around us can be healed as we deepen the connection with ourselves. Unite in harmony to balance the body\, mind\, heart and spirit through meditation and prayer. Connect to yourself with a purpose\, and create what you individually need to achieve wholeness within. Allow this state of wholeness to be an opportunity for self-healing and the healing of others. \nAs the healing light enters into ourselves\, we are able to graciously channel it in a way that brings healing to all things across the Earth.  \nWhat to expect from this mediation circle? \n1. Peaceful Community Building: Build a community that serves to bring peace and healing to all of humanity through meditation and prayer.\n2. Anxiety & Stress Relief: Learn and practice a variety of meditation techniques that help to reduce stress and promote relaxation.\n3. Meditation Myth-Busters: Debunk common misconceptions regarding the practice of meditation\, and break through conditional barriers to enhance meditation practice.\n4. Nurturing Growth: Create an environment that inspires personal and spiritual healing and development. \nIt is recommended that attendees come with personal-related\, community-related\, or global-related things that they would like to send healing and peace to. \nThis group understands that everyone is at different stages along his/her personal and spiritual growth and healing processes.
