At Wally’s Cupboard\, we aim to provide a reliable source of groceries and other supplies to students experiencing food insecurity on a weekly basis. \nWish to utilize our resources? All currently enrolled students are eligible! Just stop by with your active student ID and sign up during our open hours. Registration is valid for the entire semester and you can “shop” our grocery store-style food pantry once per week. We do our best to cater to dietary restrictions and we offer canned goods\, fresh produce\, dairy products\, frozen items\, and more! \nUnsure if you are food insecure? Food insecurity is defined as a state of being where one is unsure where their next meal is coming from. Don’t hesitate to swing by if you are still unsure! Hours are listed below. DESCRIPTION:PUT YOURSELF BACK IN THE NARRATIVE – THE PAST\, PRESENT\, AND FUTURE OF WOMEN IN SCIENCE: The Office of Diversity\, Equity\, and Inclusion\, Department of History and Women’s Studies Program are promoting the event entitled Put Yourself Back in the Narrative: The Past\, Present\, and Future of Women in Science. \nCyd Cipolla\, Clinical Associate Professor of Media\, Culture\, and Communication at NYU’s Steinhardt School\, will present a talk titled “Put Yourself Back in the Narrative: The Past\, Present\, and Future of Women in Science.” Dr. Cipolla’s talk explores the question of the under-representation of women in STEM fields as an introduction to some of the major ideas in feminist studies of science\, including the central issue of the ethics of care\, and discusses strategies for how we can encourage greater gender diversity at all levels of STEM education. \nThe event will be from 2 to 4 p.m. at the C.H. The event is organized by the National First Ladies’ Library & Museum. \nStep back in time to explore the unique stories of the women of the Manhattan Project\, including the Calutron Girls\, who worked in the “Secret City” of Oak Ridge\, Tennessee\, with no knowledge of the impact they would have on World War II. This Women’s History Month program will shine a spotlight on these women’s contributions\, complemented by insights into First Ladies Eleanor Roosevelt and Bess Truman\, who helped guide the nation during this pivotal era. DESCRIPTION:THE 19TH AMENDMENT – HOW WOMEN WON THE VOTE: The Office of Diversity\, Equity\, and Inclusion is sponsoring this event from National Constitution Center. \nJoin the National Constitution Center for a live guided tour of our exhibit\, The 19th Amendment: How Women Won the Vote\, which traces the triumphs and struggles that led to the ratification of the 19th Amendment. The tour will help students to better understand the long fight for women’s suffrage\, and highlight some of the many women who transformed constitutional history — including Elizabeth Cady Stanton\, Alice Paul\, and Ida B. Wells. Students will also get an up-close look at some of the one-of-a-kind artifacts on display\, including a rare printing of the Declaration of Sentiments from the nation’s first women’s rights convention in Seneca Falls\, a ballot box used to collect women’s votes in the late 1800s\, Pennsylvania’s ratification copy of the 19th Amendment\, as well as “Votes for Women” ephemera. \nThis virtual event will be at noon.
