SUMMARY:Ernest and the Pale Moon
DESCRIPTION:“ERNEST AND THE PALE MOON” by Oliver Lansley\nDirector: Donna Baldwin-Bradby\nInspired by the works of Edgar Allen Poe and Alfred Hitchcock\, Ernest and the Pale Moon is a play written in the style of a noir horror. Ernest is a young man who spends his days watching the beautiful young woman who lives in the apartment block across from him. When he sees her with another man he is thrown into a jealous rage\, which eventually leads to murder. However\, all is not as it seems and slowly Ernest’s guilt sends him spiraling into madness. This Blackbox musical runs from April 1 through April 10. \nAbout the Guest Director:\nDonna Baldwin-Bradby is a professor of Theatre Arts at North Carolina A&T State University\, the country’s largest HBCU. Most recently she was named Executive Director of Touring Theatre of North Carolina and remains heavily involved with the annual National Black Theatre Festival. Some of her most recent professional directing credits include: Ain’t Misbehavin’: The “Fats” Waller Musical Show\, The America Play\, Ethel Waters: His Eye is on the Sparrow\, and From the Mississippi Delta and The Old Settler. Additionally\, Donna has provided choreography for Das Barbecü\, ‘MASTER HAROLD’…and the boys\, and served as the movement coach for The Matchmaker and The Diary of Anne Frank. Donna has also directed multiple productions of Mad at Miles: A Black Woman’s Guide to Truth for Triad Stage\, at The National Black Theatre Festival\, NC A&T University\, Spelman College\, and at Seven Stages in Atlanta\, GA. \nAs a performer\, Donna has worked professionally across the country in productions of: Crowns\, Menopause: The Musical\, Violet\, Nunsense\, Ain’t Misbehavin’\, Dreamgirls\, Big River\, and Little Shop of Horrors to name a few. Donna is passionate about theatre\, and its ability to impact humanity in ways both significant and profound. Education: BFA\, NC A&T MFA\, Virginia Tech. \nPlease note that audience members must be masked at all times inside the Visual and Performing Arts Center without exception. In addition\, we are enforcing 3 ft. social distancing\, and as such\, seating is extremely limited. Because of the reduced capacity of our theatre\, we are asking all patrons to purchase their ticket in advance here on Eventbrite. Shows are likely to sell out\, so do not wait to purchase at the box office before the show. Tickets are subject to higher charges at the door as opposed to online.
