DESCRIPTION:DR. JOSHUA CORDEIRA ON “EXERCISE\, HIGH-FAT FOOD AND THE SHELF LIFE OF REWARD”: Like humans\, mice overeat high-fat food because it’s rewarding. The brain associates eating high-fat food with the feeling of pleasure which reinforces overeating behaviors. So\, why aren’t my mice overeating high-fat food? In this talk at 12:30 p.m. in the Midtown Student Center Theater\, you’ll learn about exciting and unexpected results from Dr. Cordeira’s research investigating how factors like exercise influence the reward associated with eating high-fat food.
