Each week we will work together to lessen our stress\, improve our moods\, support our brains\, and promote better sleeping patterns through the use of guided meditation. And don’t you worry! No experience in meditation is necessary to join in! \nEach Monday we will explore a different type of guided meditation\, listed below. Each participant will be able to stop in\, unwind\, make themselves a cup of tea\, and redirect their intentions for the week to better help us all cope with our hectic schedules and cumbersome obligations. We look forward to seeing you! \nMarch 4: Lovely Lavender – Join us as we tap into the sweet smell of lavender\, an herb used widely to promote relaxation and calm. \nMarch 11: SPRING BREAK – No meditation \nMarch 18: Self-Love – All too often\, we overwork ourselves and forget to honor ourselves! Join us for this relaxing meditation practicing gratitude for self. \nMarch 25: Taking a Pause – In this meditation we will all learn to pause\, embrace silence\, and tap into our body’s innate power through breathwork and mindfulness. \nApril 1: Divine Laughter – Laughter is an often-neglected wellness tool that works to release stuck energy and call in positivity. Join us as we embrace this tool together! \nApril 8: Lending Kindness – To be kind is the greatest skill of all. Learn how to embrace kindness through mindfulness\, extending it out into the world around you. \nApril 15: Breathe Deep – As we lead busy lives\, we often forget what’s most important: breathing. Wind down with us and engage in mindful breathwork. \nApril 22: Words Have Meaning – Join us as we focus on the meaning words have. In this meditation we will work at tossing away negativity and pulling in positivity. \nApril 29: Rosey Tomorrows – Today we will focus on the king of all flowers: Rose! Join us as we honor this plant of vitality\, self-love\, passion\, and healing. \nMay 6: Finals Cool Down – Now it’s time to take a deep\, soulful breath and cool down from the stress of finals. Join us as we focus on acing our final exams!

Each week we will work together to lessen our stress\, improve our moods\, support our brains\, and promote better sleeping patterns through the use of guided meditation. And don’t you worry! No experience in meditation is necessary to join in! \nEach Monday we will explore a different type of guided meditation\, listed below. Each participant will be able to stop in\, unwind\, make themselves a cup of tea\, and redirect their intentions for the week to better help us all cope with our hectic schedules and cumbersome obligations. We look forward to seeing you! \nMarch 4: Lovely Lavender – Join us as we tap into the sweet smell of lavender\, an herb used widely to promote relaxation and calm. \nMarch 11: SPRING BREAK – No meditation \nMarch 18: Self-Love – All too often\, we overwork ourselves and forget to honor ourselves! Join us for this relaxing meditation practicing gratitude for self. \nMarch 25: Taking a Pause – In this meditation we will all learn to pause\, embrace silence\, and tap into our body’s innate power through breathwork and mindfulness. \nApril 1: Divine Laughter – Laughter is an often-neglected wellness tool that works to release stuck energy and call in positivity. Join us as we embrace this tool together! \nApril 8: Lending Kindness – To be kind is the greatest skill of all. Learn how to embrace kindness through mindfulness\, extending it out into the world around you. \nApril 15: Breathe Deep – As we lead busy lives\, we often forget what’s most important: breathing. Wind down with us and engage in mindful breathwork. \nApril 22: Words Have Meaning – Join us as we focus on the meaning words have. In this meditation we will work at tossing away negativity and pulling in positivity. \nApril 29: Rosey Tomorrows – Today we will focus on the king of all flowers: Rose! Join us as we honor this plant of vitality\, self-love\, passion\, and healing. \nMay 6: Finals Cool Down – Now it’s time to take a deep\, soulful breath and cool down from the stress of finals. Join us as we focus on acing our final exams!

Self care is not selfish — it is health care for yourself\, and includes taking care of your body\, mind and spirit. Stopping to assess and identify what we need in the moment — whether a chance to stop and catch our breath\, a little time out to spend with a friend\, enjoy a cup of tea\, or take a walk outside — is an important part of self care and attention to our physical\, mental\, emotional and spiritual health. DESCRIPTION:DESTRESS WITH CATS: Most people have heard about therapy dogs\, but what about therapy cats? These are very special cats\, in that they also have health challenges themselves — and are living proof that they have meaningful and happy lives in spite of their limitations. Come to Warner Hall Lyceum from noon to 2 p.m. to play with these frisky felines\, give them love\, and get love from them in return. Take a lesson from them that life is beautiful\, and it is all about attitude.

DESCRIPTION:ANXIETY IN THE POST-COVID-19 WORLD:  The World Health Organization reported that the COVID-19 pandemic triggered a 25% increase in prevalence of anxiety and depression worldwide\, and just a few months ago the U.S. National Institute of Mental Health reported the COVID-19 Pandemic was associated with worse mental health and accelerated brain development in adolescents. These negative mental health outcomes throughout the world can impact social interactions and relationships\, and they are likely to be evident in problematic social anxiety for some time to come. Yet around 50% of the patients treated for generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) will not respond to first-line treatment such as antidepressant therapy. That means there is a lot of room for improvement\, such as integrative and naturopathic care! Join Dr. Shawn M. DESCRIPTION:DESTRESS WITH CATS: Come to Warner hall Lyceum anytime between 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. to play with cats and learn about feline disabilities. The Institute for Holistic Health Studies shared these kitties with you last semester and are now bringing them back to campus. Petting these kitties can lower your blood pressure and release stress and tension in your body\, and actually release oxytocin\, the “bonding hormone”– it is good for you and good for the kitties!
