DESCRIPTION:FILM AND FORUM – DOCUMENTARY NIGHT AT THE LIBRARY: Come join us from 6 to 8:30 p.m. for our first Film & Forum\, a documentary night at Haas Library on the Midtown campus. This event is being organized by Wally’s Cupboard\, the Black Social Workers’ Association (BSWA)\, and supported by Library Services and the Department of Social Work. \nMore than 500\,000 people experience homelessness every night in America. Lead Me Home is a documentary short that tells a few of these real-life stories giving the audience a rare\, in-depth look at the scale\, scope\, and diversity of what it means to be unsheltered today while calling into question uninformed attitudes and outmoded policies. \nThis event will feature a discussion moderated by social work professor Dr. Sharon Young\, as well as introductory remarks from Gabriela Torres (BSWA) and concluding remarks from social work student Jennifer Dreisacker (Renewal House). \nAll attendees will be entered in a raffle! Snacks will be provided.
