DESCRIPTION:WESTCONN DAY OF WELLNESS/DOG THERAPY: Join us from noon –3 p.m. in the Westside Campus Center Ballroom for the WestConn Day of Wellness! This interactive\, walk-through wellness event is designed to support student wellbeing through a combination of dog therapy and engaging\, health-focused activities hosted by campus partners. \nStudents are welcome to stop by at any time and explore multiple informational and activity-based tables\, each highlighting different dimensions of wellness and practical ways to improve health beyond pharmacological measures. Friendly therapy dogs will also be stationed inside the ballroom to provide comfort\, stress relief\, and a calming presence. \nAs students visit each table\, they will receive a raffle ticket — the more tables they explore\, the more tickets they earn\, increasing their chances of winning the event raffle prize\, an iPad. \nOur goal: Every student leaves having identified or learned at least one healthy habit they can realistically incorporate into their daily routine. \nStop in\, de-stress\, learn something new\, and take a step toward a healthier you!

Join us for our final Film and Forum for the Spring 2025 semester from 3 to 5 p.m. for a screening of “Climate Refugees\,” a highly awarded documentary that focuses on the intersection between “overpopulation\, excessive consumption\, dwindling resources\, and a shifting climate.” \nA discussion following the screening will be led by Dr. Anna Malavisi\, Associate Professor and Co-Chair of the Department of Philosophy. \nPopcorn and snacks provided by Wally’s Cupboard\, WCSU’s Food Pantry. She has a Master of Health and International Development and has worked for 16 years in Latin America in the NGO sector in areas of development practice and management.
