This should be applied only when a passing grade is possible for student when missing data are completed. *<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"height: 29px\">\n<td style=\"height: 29px\" width=\"15%\">X<\/td>\n<td style=\"height: 29px\" width=\"84%\">Audit<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">*Assigning an incomplete: Upon a student\u2019s request a faculty member may submit an INC on the final grade sheet when they enter the rest of their course\u2019s grades. Incomplete grades may be awarded when a faculty member determines that circumstances warrant an extension of the typical deadline. The student will have made significant progress in the class, such that they may complete the final assignment(s) independently and within the allotted time.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Incomplete grades may be awarded in Banner, but faculty will be prompted to set the date of anticipated completion, and a default grade, should the work not be completed. If faculty do not enter this information, the default date will be six weeks from the original due date, and the default grade will be F. The Registrar\u2019s Office may also enter INC if the faculty member has not submitted their final grades by the deadline. Incompletes must be resolved or extended prior to the deadline set at the time of the INC submission, by sending an email to the Registrar\u2019s Office.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 70%\"><strong>Selective Grades<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<table class=\"table\" role=\"presentation\" width=\"95%\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"15%\"><em>Pass\/Fail<\/em><\/td>\n<td width=\"84%\">A grade option carrying no quality points. Some courses are approved to use this grade for all students enrolled. In other courses, a student may secure permission to carry a course under this option. Faculty members are notified of any students exercising this option and grade them accordingly<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"15%\">P<\/td>\n<td width=\"84%\">Passing grade in a pass\/fail option course<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"15%\">FP<\/td>\n<td width=\"84%\">Failing grade in a pass\/fail course<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"15%\">RM or RP*<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/td>\n<td width=\"84%\">This grade is a qualitative grade available for use only in the following courses:<\/p>\n<p>CHE100, WRT098, WRT101, MAT098, PHY110\/111, SPA161\/162<\/p>\n<p>This grade is used in courses \u201cwhere the student must demonstrate a level of skill or competence in addition to the formal requirements of the course.\u201d<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>*Assigning RM (Remediate) or RP (Repeat) grade<\/p>\n<p>Rationale for a student who has been doing all the assigned course work but whose academic deficiencies would need more than the usual time to achieve competence, the RM or RP grade makes it possible for the student to continue improving competence without being penalized for prior weakness.<\/p>\n<p>The instructor arranges with the student for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The type and extent of additional work required to meet the acceptable level of competence, and<\/li>\n<li>The time limits within which the work is to be<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Remediate or Repeat<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>RM: Requirement may include self-directed practice, review, or supplementary assignments administered by the same instructor or another instructor.<\/li>\n<li>RP: Requirement is repeating the course with the same or different instructor. This is no limit to the number of times a student may repeat the same course when assigned RP.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When level of competence has been achieved<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>RM: Instructor submits a \u201cChange of Grade Request Form\u201d to change the RM to a C or better.<\/li>\n<li>RP: Original RP remains on record (same as W and grade is submitted by instructor of the repeated course for credit.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 70%\"><strong>Administrative Grades<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<table class=\"table\" role=\"presentation\" width=\"95%\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"13%\">W<\/td>\n<td width=\"86%\">Withdrawal without penalty. The student may withdraw without penalty through the deadline set by the Registrar. After that deadline, the instructor may give the student written permission to withdraw without penalty.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"13%\">NA<\/td>\n<td width=\"86%\"><span class=\"TextRun SCXW203255592 BCX8\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW203255592 BCX8\">Students are marked NA (Never Attended) on the midterm grade sheet by faculty if they have never attended a class, and this must be done no later than the census date, three weeks into a semester<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW203255592 BCX8\">.\u00a0 <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW203255592 BCX8\">Students who are marked NA are dropped from the class. <\/span><\/span><strong><span class=\"TextRun SCXW203255592 BCX8\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW203255592 BCX8\">Note: Never Attended should not be used in lieu of a W. Students must <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW203255592 BCX8\">initiate<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW203255592 BCX8\"> a W.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW203255592 BCX8\" data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"13%\">SA<\/td>\n<td width=\"86%\">Stopped attending grades may be submitted during midterm and final grading periods.\u00a0 This grade should have a date of last attendance with it.\u00a0 It will become a W on the student record. <strong>Note: Stopped attending should not be used in lieu of a W.\u00a0 Students must initiate a W.<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Regular Grades A Excellent: Q.P.
