font-size: 14px;\">On December 27, 2020, the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (CRRSAA) was signed into law, authorizing funding for higher education institutions, as well as\u00a0funding to be directed to qualifying\u00a0students, through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II (HEERF II) in order to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: Montserrat; font-size: 14px;\">Western Connecticut State University received an allocation of $7,148,969 of which $2,128,197 was determined to be given to students as a grant.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-6912\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-6912\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon elementor-accordion-icon-left\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-closed\"><i class=\"fas fa-plus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-opened\"><i class=\"fas fa-minus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-accordion-title\" tabindex=\"0\">Am I eligible to receive the HEERF II grant?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-6912\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-6912\"><p>\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: Montserrat; font-size: 14px;\">Eligibility parameters were established based on the stipulations of the Federal HEERF II Act, the U.S. Department of Education guidelines, the recommendations of the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, CSCU and Western Connecticut State University. \u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: Montserrat; font-size: 14px;\">In order to be eligible for such grant funds, students must be:<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"font-family: Montserrat; font-size: 14px;\">U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen, and <\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-family: Montserrat; font-size: 14px;\">Enrolled and matriculated in Spring 2021 as of February 19, 2021. <\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-6913\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-6913\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon elementor-accordion-icon-left\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-closed\"><i class=\"fas fa-plus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-opened\"><i class=\"fas fa-minus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-accordion-title\" tabindex=\"0\">How will I receive my grant allocation?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-6913\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-6913\"><p>Eligible students received an email notification from the Cashier\u2019s Office with a link to the HEERF II Options page. This link was sent only to eligible students.<\/p><p>Students who qualify for HEERF II funds can receive the funds as a refund or can opt to have the funds applied to any outstanding balance (if applicable).<\/p><p>Students are encouraged to sign up for direct deposit through TouchNet to expedite the refund.
