Matching Gifts<\/span><\/h3>\n

Did you know many companies offer a matching gift program to encourage philanthropy among their employees?\u00a0 And that some companies even match gifts made by spouses and retirees?\u00a0 Please check to see if your company offers this benefit.\u00a0If so, request a matching gift form from your employer, and send it completed and signed with your gift. Gifts of Stock<\/span><\/h3>\n

Please notify the Office of Institutional Advancement when donating securities!<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Gifts of publicly traded securities that have appreciated in value allow you to avoid capital gains taxes while also receiving a tax deduction for your gift. The Foundation benefits by selling the stock without paying taxes on the gain, and you benefit from making a contribution that would be larger than what you might have been able to donate in cash.\u00a0 We recommend you check with your tax advisor for advice on your particular situation.<\/p>\n

Gifts of Other Assets<\/span><\/h3>\n

Gifts to WCSU can come in the form of other assets as well. \u00a0For example, you may wish to consider gifts of closely held stock, planned gifts, life insurance, real estate and tangible personal property if its use is related to WCSU\u2019s educational purpose.\u00a0 WCSU Foundation can accept gifts in a variety of forms that meet its gift acceptance policy guidelines.<\/p>\n
