Something magical happens when we work together in the garden: we disconnect from electronic devices and reconnect with the earth and with each other.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Our vision for the garden and its benefit to the WCSU and Greater Danbury communities includes the following initiatives:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"\/goodall\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/185\/2018\/07\/Roots-and-Shoots-at-WCSU-Club-Carnival.jpg\" alt=\"Roots &amp; Shoots at club Carnival\" width=\"150\" height=\"135\" \/>Assist with food security in the Danbury area to supply fresh produce, including the Daily Bread Food Pantry and Wally&#8217;s Cupboard<\/li>\n<li>Educate our students and community on the value and practice of permaculture\n<ul>\n<li>Add permaculture to a variety of WCSU courses across all disciplines<\/li>\n<li>Hold permaculture and sustainability education events for students and the public<\/li>\n<li>Engage students in service projects in the garden<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/student-affairs\/food-pantries\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Learn more about food security initiatives in Danbury and WCSU<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The simple experience of tending the new garden inspires learning about sustainability practices.
