I decided to become an HPX major because I have a passion like no other for Health/Wellness.”

Coyle’s interest in wellness was amplified by his interactions with his professors. “Dr. Cordeira was my professor for Anatomy and Physiology 1 and 2. His passion for science and the human body in particular inspired me to learn and be the best student I could be. He challenged the class with difficult tests and assignments, but he pushed me to accept the challenge and grow as an individual.

“I was also inspired by Dr. Stevens, as she taught several of my HPX courses,” Coyle added. “She is one of the most intelligent and productive people I’ve had the privilege of knowing. Her drive to help her students succeed is a blessing to have at WCSU.”

Asked what he will remember most about his WCSU experience, Coyle says, “My most memorable moments include beating Eastern Connecticut State University for the first and second time in WestConn men’s lacrosse history my junior and senior year.”

After graduation, Coyle says he plans to become an Emergency Department nurse.

His advice to new students entering WCSU is: “Make the most of your time at WCSU.
