They <\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;font-size: 12pt\">are available to well-qualified, matriculated graduate students <strong>in activities that are academically relevant to the students&#8217; program of study<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;font-size: 12pt\">The graduate assistantship positions require the candidate to be matriculated in a graduate program at WestConn, registered for the current semester, and have a CGPA of 3.00 or higher. Graduate assistantships may be awarded in three categories: Graduate Assistant (GA), Teaching Assistant (TA), and Research Assistant (RA), who provide support for the university. <\/span><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;font-size: 12pt\">Graduate Assistants may not be employed by any other employment category of the university.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;font-size: 12pt\">Stipends awarded to Graduate Assistants range from $ 1,200 to $ 4,800 per semester and should not exceed 20 work hours per week.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;font-size: 12pt\">In addition to a stipend award, full-time graduate students (enrolled in nine credits or more per semester) may have the following <strong>fees<\/strong> waived:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;font-size: 12pt\">State University Fee<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;font-size: 12pt\">University General Fee, except for that portion attributable to student accident insurance<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;font-size: 12pt\">Student Activity Fee<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;font-size: 12pt\">If a graduate student is interested in applying for a Graduate Assistantship at WCSU, they may seek guidance from their Graduate Program Coordinator and\/or department chair.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;font-size: 12pt\">Graduate students applying for a graduate assistantship must complete the <a class=\"\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/graduate\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/49\/2025\/04\/Graduate-Assistant-Application-4.23.2025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">graduate assistant application form<\/a> and submit it along with an updated resume to the Graduate Program Coordinator or the individual supervising the position for which they are applying.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;font-size: 12pt\">Faculty and staff hiring a graduate assistant must submit <\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;font-size: 12pt\">the <a class=\"\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/graduate\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/49\/2025\/10\/Graduate-Assisant-Hire-Form-Rev.-10.3.25.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">graduate assistant appointment form<\/a>, along with the completed Graduate Assistant Application, the updated student resume, and the job description to Dr. Jessica Coronel (coronelj@wcsu.edu).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Graduate Assistantships provide on-campus, extracurricular, experiential learning experiences and stipends to graduate students.
