Notify the RD\/RA.\u00a0 Remain at home until you are fever and symptom free for at least 24 hours.<\/li>\n<li>Isolate yourself.\u00a0 Limit contact with people, especially large crowds. If you must leave your home, i.e. for a medical appointment, be sure to cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing, or wear a face mask.<\/li>\n<li>Discard tissues and wash hands immediately with warm, soapy water or hand sanitizer.<\/li>\n<li>For fever and body aches use either acetaminophen (Tylenol) or ibuprofen (Advil) as directed on the package, if you are not allergic to these medications.<\/li>\n<li>Rest and drink plenty of fluids.<\/li>\n<li>For gastrointestinal symptoms, such as diarrhea and vomiting, drink clear fluids or electrolyte replacements (Gatorade).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Additional treatment for those in \u201chigh risk\u201d groups<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Individuals with a serious medical condition such as heart disease, diabetes, or asthma, may need more than just symptomatic treatment as outlined above.<\/li>\n<li>These individuals might need a prescription anti-viral medication.<\/li>\n<li>Please see your health care provider who will decide if you need a prescription medication.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Emergency Warning Signs<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Go to the nearest emergency room if you develop<\/em>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath<\/li>\n<li>Pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen<\/li>\n<li>Sudden severe dizziness<\/li>\n<li>Dehydration<\/li>\n<li>Confusion<\/li>\n<li>Severe or persistent vomiting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>WHAT ABOUT MY CLASSES?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Email your professors regarding your absence.<\/li>\n<li>If you miss five or more days in a row, submit a note from your private healthcare provider regarding your illness to Health Service at WCSU.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Reference:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cdc.gov\">www.cdc.gov<\/a><br \/>\nRevised 1\/8\/2015<\/p>\n<p class=\"sectiontitle\">\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Call Health Service for instructions.\u00a0 (203) 837-8594 Please DO NOT go to class, get on the shuttle, or walk-in to Health Service.
