Students will engage with the archeological record by\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">learning traditional skills and conducting experiments designed to give them a better\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">understanding of the materials used by people in the past. Readings will primarily focus on\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">previously published experiments, where students will be asked to reflect on both the design\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">and results of the experiment. Further readings will be centered around the use of the scientific\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">method, material culture studies, and archaeological theory. Through practical methodology,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">readings, and experimentation, students will better understand how experimental\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">archaeology can enhance traditional archaeological inquiry.
