Travel Information<\/p>\n

It’s going to take a bit of work to get here to WCSU’s campus.\u00a0 Here’s some important information for you on getting to campus from local airports.<\/p>\n

\n

Bradley International, Windsor Locks, Connecticut<\/h4>\n

Although closer than some of the NYC airports, Bradley is perhaps the most difficult in terms of public transportation.<\/p>\n

Bus Service to Danbury is available. Ask at the Information Desk or an airline employee where to find a bus to take you to Western Connecticut State University in Danbury.<\/p>\n

\n<\/em>You may also be able to hire a car or shuttle service.\u00a0 More information on car and shuttle services may be found when you click on the photo link.<\/p>\n

Once in Danbury, call for a taxi at\u00a0 203-792-0029 or\u00a0(203) 792-8294, and ask the taxicab driver to take you to Western Connecticut State University, Old Main building.<\/p>\n

\n

Laguardia (LGA) or Kennedy (JFK) airports, New York City<\/h4>\n

Transportation is more readily available from Laguardia and JFK airports than from Bradley.<\/p>\n

\"Ct<\/a>(Click image to link to Connecticut Limo)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0Connecticut Limo<\/strong>\u00a0is perhaps the most readily available and convenient service (unless your flight arrives in the early hours of the morning!)\u00a0 You may arrange your transportation before you arrive via the Connecticut Limo website, or you can arrange it through the\u00a0Ground Transportation Desk<\/strong>\u00a0once you’ve landed.\u00a0 Follow signs to the Ground Transportation area, or ask an airport employee to direct you.<\/p>\n

Once there, tell the representative that you would like to take the next shuttle to Danbury,Connecticut.\u00a0 The cost for a one-way trip is approximately $80.<\/p>\n

The Connecticut Limo will take you to the Maron Hotel.\u00a0 From there, you can get a cab (dial 203-792-0029 or(203) 792-8294)\u00a0to the WCSU Midtown Campus (181 White Street), Old Main building.\u00a0 Go to room 306.<\/p>\n

Buses and trains<\/strong>\u00a0are available from the airports to Manhattan, and from there, to Danbury.\u00a0 Here are some of the services available:<\/p>\n

AirTrain JFK<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"AirTrain<\/a>(Click image to link to AirTrain JFK)<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Take the AirTrain from JFK to the subway or bus service into Manhattan (Grand Central Station).\u00a0 From there, take a MetroNorth train to Danbury, CT or to Brewster, NY.\u00a0 Finally, call a taxi to take you to the WCSU Midtown Campus (181 White Street), Old Main building.\u00a0 The AirTrain and subway cost into Manhattan will cost about $7.50.<\/p>\n

Metro North Railroad\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Metro<\/a>(Click image to link to MTA\/Metro-North)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>From Manhattan’s Grand Central Station terminal, you can take a Metro North train to one of two locations.\u00a0 You may take the New Haven line to the\u00a0Danbury<\/strong>\u00a0station.\u00a0 This trip requires that you change trains in South Norwalk, but the Danbury station is only 1\/2 mile or so from the WCSU Midtown campus.\u00a0 A one-way ticket on the train will cost about $20.<\/p>\n

You may also take the Harlem line to\u00a0Brewster<\/strong>, New York.\u00a0 This trip does not require changing trains, but is a little farther from campus.\u00a0 Once arriving in Brewster, you will need to hail a taxicab at the stand in front of the station, ask the driver to take you to Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, CT\u00a0 (181 White Street), Old Main building.\u00a0 Again, the cost for the train is about $20.\u00a0 The taxi may cost about $30.<\/p>\n

Peter Pan Bus\u00a0<\/strong>(also serving Bonanza and Greyhound bus lines)<\/p>\n

\"Peter<\/a>(Click image to link to Peter Pan Bus)<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Several bus lines run to Danbury from Manhattan.\u00a0 From the Port Authority Bus Terminal (625 8th Ave. & W. 42nd Street) Peter Pan Bus Line offers service to Danbury.\u00a0 The cost is approximately $20.00.\u00a0 The bus stop is just off Main Street.\u00a0 Call a taxicab at 203-792-0029.<\/p>\n

\n

Newark Liberty Airport, Newark, New Jersey<\/h4>\n

\"AirTrain<\/a>(Click image to link to AirTrain Newark)<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Like JFK, Newark Liberty Airport also hasAirTrain<\/strong>\u00a0service into Manhattan.\u00a0 From Newark, you can catch the AirTrain into NY’s Penn Station.\u00a0 The cost is about $13.00.\u00a0 From Penn Station, take the subway to Grand Central Station (cost approximately $2.25), where you can switch to the Metro North train.\u00a0 You may take Metro North’s Harlem line to Brewster (cost about $20), and a taxicab can be hailed there to take you to Danbury (cost about $30).\u00a0 Or, take the New Haven line to Danbury (requiring yet another train change in South Norwalk.)\u00a0 The Danbury train station is about 1\/2 mile from the midtown campus.\u00a0 Call a taxicab at\u00a0 203-792-0029.<\/p>\n

\"Shuttle<\/a>\u00a0(Click image to link to Newark Liberty Transportation)<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A variety of shuttle and car services are available into Manhattan from Newark Liberty Airport.\u00a0 Like the AirTrain, most will require you to make several stops and transfers between Newark and Danbury.\u00a0 It may be more reasonable (or just easier!) for you to hire a car service to drive you directly from Newark to Danbury.\u00a0 The transportation site at Newark’s website lists some options available to you.<\/p>\n

\n

Logan Airport, Boston, Massachusetts<\/h4>\n

\"Peter<\/a>(Click image to link to Peter Pan Bus)<\/em>\u00a0 Transport is available from Logan to Danbury via Peter Pan Bus again.\u00a0 You can catch a bus from Logan into Boston, and from Boston to Danbury.\u00a0 Please see the Peter Pan webpage (click the photo) for more complete information.\u00a0 The bus stop is again just off Main Street, and you may call a taxicab at 203-792-0029 or\u00a0(203) 792-8294.<\/p>\n
