anyone not WCSU-affiliated must include their &#8220;WCSU sponsor&#8221; <span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">(e.g., professor or affiliate)<\/span> to be considered for review<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><span style=\"color: #339966;font-size: 18pt\"><a style=\"color: #339966\" href=\"https:\/\/about.citiprogram.org\/\"><strong class=\"style1\">CITI<\/strong><\/a> <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\"><span style=\"color: #339966\"><strong>Human Subjects training <\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;color: #000000\">(or equivalent)<\/span><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><em>Only<\/em> attach certifications to proposals if they were <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">not<\/span> completed via WCSU&#8217;s <span style=\"font-size: 10pt;color: #ff00ff\">(listed in CITI as &#8220;Western CT State University&#8221;)<\/span> CITI affiliation.<span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"> We already have CITI records for anyone completing under our school code.<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"style1\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #333333\">All proposals\/appendices must be received as <strong>ONE <\/strong>complete\u00a0file <span style=\"color: #ff00ff\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">(.doc or .docx files ONLY)<\/span> <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">attachment<\/span> emailed to\u00a0<a class=\"style1\" style=\"color: #333333\" href=\"mailto:IRB@wcsu.edu\">IRB@wcsu.edu<\/a>. <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #333333\"><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\"><em>Incomplete or incorrectly submitted proposals <span style=\"font-size: 8pt\">(e.g., missing docs\/sigs, not emailed as ONE &#8220;.doc type&#8221; file) <\/span>will not be reviewed.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong class=\"style13\"><em>WCSU IRB approval must be obtained <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">before<\/span> beginning sampling or data collection by, with, or on anyone affiliated with WCSU.<\/em><\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">During regular semesters, m<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">ost reviews take ~2 weeks <span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">(i.e., Exempt &amp; Expedited proposals are reviewed 1-2x weekly).<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Deadline <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">for proposals needing Full Review is &#8211; without exception &#8211; the <em class=\"style14\"><strong>1st of the month<\/strong><\/em>. <span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Full proposals received after the 1st are reviewed at <em>next<\/em> month&#8217;s meeting. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;font-size: 12pt\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Proposals are reviewed only during regular Fall &amp; Spring semesters; proposals for work during breaks must be received\/processed in the prior semester.<strong> For Summer 2025, May 25th is the last date Exempt\/Expedited proposals will be accepted for review <\/strong>(still May 1st deadline for Full Reviews)<strong>. <\/strong>Outside these times, email responses \u2265 month.<\/span><\/span> <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"style1\" style=\"height: 22px\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong class=\"style26\">Academic Year Meetings<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"style1\" style=\"height: 22px;font: small serif\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><em class=\"style25\"><span style=\"color: #000080\">Meetings typically occur remotely.
