Meet the Students – Amy W.
Amy W. was an Art major in the School of Visual and Performing Arts and went abroad with ISEP in her junior year. She has since graduated from WCSU.

Amy W. attended Universita Cattolica Del Sacro Cuore in the Spring of 2012.
What were your favorite and least favorite foods?
Amy: Pizza, pasta, tomatoes, croissants, nutella, especially Gelato. There was no food I did not like!
Did you travel a lot?
Amy: Rome, Venice, Bergamo, Lake Como, Florence, Sienna, Pisa, Monterosso in Cinque Terre, Barcelona, Paris, Mallorca, London, Athens.
What did you do during your free time?
Amy: Explored, did LOTS of walking, shopping, eating, talking to people, learning the language, skyping with family and friends.
What were your favorite and least favorite things to do while abroad?
Amy: Favorite: traveling. Least favorite: studying.
Was communicating easy?
Amy: Yes. I learned Italian but I would not consider myself fluent yet.
What difference did you find with regards to academics?
Amy: The language barrier between you and your professors, the grading systems, classroom rules.
What advice would you give to other students traveling abroad?
Amy: Travel as much as possible, talk to as many new faces as you can, learn a new language, embrace the culture and differences.
How would you summarize your overall experience?
Amy: My experience was one in a million. I had the time of my life and would recommend any study abroad opportunity to anyone who has the chance to go. The best part for me was getting the chance to travel to so many different countries and cities, and indulge in so many new cultures and languages. The friends I have made along my journey will stay with me forever, whether they were from America or a different country. Staying in touch today is so easy with email and social networking websites. After getting adjusted to the culture, the thrill of just being able to walk outside and know where you are going and being able to communicate with the people is awesome. Time during my study abroad months flew by so fast, I wish I could go back in time. One day I hope to have another opportunity as amazing as this.
