Microsoft Office Upgrades will be rolling out to Faculty & Staff Computers

As part of our ongoing efforts to provide the latest technology, ITI will be deploying an upgrade of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project) to all University-owned computers on campus starting the evening of this Thursday, Feb 11. This upgrade will remove the current version, Office 2016, from your computer. This upgrade to Microsoft Office 365 includes better integration with OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Office on the web.

This upgrade will occur during the off-hours overnight and will only happen if your machine is on campus and connected to the network via a network cable. The upgrade will happen automatically in the background. Classrooms and Old Main staff have already received the upgrade over Winter intersession.

To ensure the upgrade goes as smooth as possible, we are asking you to Log Off (do not shut down) your machines at the end of the work day on Thursday this week. If you are using Pulse Secure VPN, please log off of your remote computer instead of closing the Remote Desktop window. For individuals working with their WCSU computers off-site, you can bring your computer to campus and leave it powered on and connected to the network overnight in your office to receive the upgrade on Thursday or at any point after.

You may also arrange a time to drop your machine off to ITI by contacting the Service Desk at RequestIT@wcsu.educreate new email. Turnaround time is next business day for the upgrade.
