Students must also maintain a minimum 3.0 G.P.A. in all coursework.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Learning Outcomes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>WCSU\u2019s Secondary Education Program in Mathematics is designed to prepare our teacher candidates to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>develop a rich, conceptual understanding of major mathematical concepts, procedures and applications,<\/li>\n<li>demonstrate knowledge of mathematical best practices, including problem solving, reasoning, modeling, making connections, and using mathematical tools strategically,<\/li>\n<li>capitalize on the diversity of their students to make lesson content relevant and engaging for their students,<\/li>\n<li>be reflective practitioners who use evidence of their students\u2019 learning to improve instruction,<\/li>\n<li>engage with colleagues, families and communities to grow professionally.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Content Courses<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CS 140 Introduction to Programming<\/li>\n<li>MAT 150\/151 Mathematics Seminar I&amp;II<\/li>\n<li>MAT 141 Foundational Discrete Mathematics<\/li>\n<li>MAT 181,182 Calculus I &amp;
