New Visual and Performing Arts Center

The new facility, expected to be complete in 2014 will house a 350-seat theater, a 150-seat black box theater, a 350-seat concert hall, an art gallery, a recording studio and state-of-the-art rehearsal, classroom and studio art facilities.

Roy Mazzacane

Applied Voice Kevin Issacs

Roy Mazzacane, Tenor, holds a Master of Music degree in Voice from the Manhattan School of Music and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Acting from the University of Connecticut. Mr. Mazzacane also studied at the International Opera Academy in Santa Margherita Ligure, Italy.  He is an Adjunct Professor of Voice at Western Connecticut State University in both the Music and Musical Theatre Departments. He has appeared with several opera companies, symphonies, chamber groups, chorales, cruise ships, theatre companies and on compact disc, radio, TV, and film.

With Connecticut Opera at the Bushnell he sang roles in “Norma”, “La Boheme”, and “La Traviata” and with CT Opera on tour, “L’Elisir D’Amore” (Nemorino), “Amahl and the Night Visitors”, and “Little Red Riding Hood”. In New York City he has had lead roles in “Don Giovanni”, “Falstaff” (at Lincoln Center), the American stage premier of “Cherubin” and “La Cenerentola”. Mr. Mazzacane is the founding member of Cantabile Vocal Quartet. Their recordings are played internationally on Public Radio and they have performed numerous concerts throughout the Northeast.  He has been guest soloist with Orchestra New England, Waterbury Chorale, Simsbury Chorale, Redeemer Oratorio Society and many other symphonies and chorales throughout Connecticut.

Musical Theatre roles include: Ewart Dunlop, Summer Theatre of New Canaan; King Ahashueris, “Megilla”, Goodspeed Opera House; Captain Courageous, “Dames at Sea”, Van Buren, “Damn Yankees”, Professor, “South Pacific” and McComas, “You Never Can Tell”, Nutmeg Summer Theatre. Roy was a lead player at the Downtown Cabaret of Bridgeport in the 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s “Decades” shows.

Mr. Mazzacane had a supporting role in the feature film “My Brother Jack” which has been seen in many major film festivals throughout the USA. TV credits include feature roles in Forensic Files, Amazing Sports Stories, Brotherhood on Showtime, Celebrity Ghost Stories, School Spirits, and the A&E series The Fugitive Chronicles. Roy is member of Actor’s Equity, the American Guild of Musical Artists and can be seen in numerous regional and national TV commercials.

Roy was a Choir Director at Trinity Church on the Green in New Haven, CT for 33 years and maintains a private studio of voice and piano in Hamden, CT. He is Vice President of National Teachers of Singing.
