Goals for the Bachelor of Arts degree in Music include the following:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>To prepare students for careers in music and arts-related professions.<\/li>\n<li>To increase students\u2019 understanding and appreciation of the arts in relation to society, thus encouraging their lifelong advocacy of the arts.<\/li>\n<li>To allow students to maintain an emphasis on music while further exploring other academic interests.<\/li>\n<li>To foster intellectual curiosity.<\/li>\n<li>To encourage students to seek breadth and variety in their educational pursuits to aid them in securing employment in the ever-changing global economy.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Students wishing to pursue this degree program must first be admitted by <a href=\"http:\/\/wcsu.edu\/music\/audition\/\">audition<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"sectiontitle\">Requirements: Bachelor of Arts: Music<\/p>\n<p>Completion of all general education requirements, the courses and credits listed below and additional free electives to total a minimum of 120 semester hours, including exercise science and foreign language.<\/p>\n<table class=\"table\" style=\"max-width: 100%\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"60%;\">MUS 108, 109<\/td>\n<td>Music Theory I &amp;
