{"id":54,"date":"2017-07-05T16:02:29","date_gmt":"2017-07-05T16:02:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wcsu.wpengine.com\/music\/faculty\/jeff_siegel\/"},"modified":"2017-07-24T14:29:32","modified_gmt":"2017-07-24T14:29:32","slug":"jeff-siegel","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/music\/faculty\/jeff-siegel\/","title":{"rendered":"Jeff Siegel"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<div align=\"left\">\n<p><span class=\"inlineheader\">Adjunct Instructor of Music<\/span><b><span style=\"float: right;padding: 10px\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/wcsu.wpengine.com\/music\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/73\/2017\/07\/seigel.jpg\" alt=\"Jeff Siegel\" width=\"150\" height=\"195\" border=\"0\" \/><\/span><\/b><br \/>\n<em>Applied Jazz Percussion, Jazz Combos<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Drummer Jeff \u201cSiege\u201d Siegel is leader of the Jeff \u201cSiege\u201d Siegel Quartet as well as co-leader of the Stevens, Siegel &amp; Ferguson Trio and The New York Trio Project.\u00a0 He was a member of the Sir Roland Hanna Trio from 1994-1999.\u00a0 He studied drums with Freddie Waits, Barry Altschul and Akira Tana.\u00a0 He received his B.F.A. from City College in New York City, as well as his M.A. in Jazz from Queens College where he studied composition with Jimmy Heath.\u00a0 He is critically acclaimed in the October \u201892 edition of <em>Modern Drummer <\/em>\u00a0magazine for his work on Ryan Kisor\u2019s Columbia Records debut \u201cMinor Mutiny\u201d, a date for which Siegel was chosen by its producer Jack DeJohnette.\u00a0 He regularly performs throughout Europe at festivals, clubs and concerts.\u00a0 Siegel has conducted drums clinics throughout Germany and the United States.\u00a0\u00a0 As part of the International Association of Schools of Jazz, Siegel has taught combos of international students in Italy and Latvia.\u00a0 Most recently, Siegel\u2019s quartet was featured at the Sud Tirol Alto Adige Jazz Festival in Bolzano, Italy (June, 2008).\u00a0 In addition to his work as a player and composer, Siegel also produced the upcoming cd\/dvd release \u201cLee Shaw Trio Live in Graz\u201d on ARC Records.<\/p>\n<p>Siegel has also performed and\/or recorded with Ron Carter, Kenny Burrell, Pat Metheny, Jack DeJohnette, John Scofield, Ravi Coltrane, Dave Douglas, Jimmy Heath, Benny Golson, Frank Foster, David \u201cFathead\u201d Newman, Lee Konitz,\u00a0 Frank Wess, Nick Brignola, J.R.
