{"id":64,"date":"2017-07-05T16:02:30","date_gmt":"2017-07-05T16:02:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wcsu.wpengine.com\/music\/faculty\/m_snyder\/"},"modified":"2017-07-24T14:28:19","modified_gmt":"2017-07-24T14:28:19","slug":"mark-snyder","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/music\/faculty\/mark-snyder\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr. Mark Snyder"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<div align=\"left\">\n<p><span class=\"inlineheader\">Adjunct Instructor of Music<span style=\"float: right;padding: 10px\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/wcsu.wpengine.com\/music\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/73\/2017\/07\/snyder.jpg\" alt=\"Mark Snyder\" width=\"150\" height=\"195\" border=\"0\" \/><\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><em>Applied Oboe, Chamber Music, Double Reed Methods, History and Appreciation of Music<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Mark Snyder, oboe\/English horn, presented his New York Recital Debut to critical acclaim in March 2002 at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall as a prize winner of the Artists International Competition.\u00a0 Active as a freelance artist, Mark has toured throughout the United States and Asia performing with various orchestras, both as a member of the oboe section and as a soloist.\u00a0 Some of his performances have included appearances with ensembles such as the Glimmerglass Opera Orchestra, Key West Symphony, Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional (Dominican Republic), North Eastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic, Vermont Symphony Orchestra, Albany Symphony, Princeton Symphony, Westchester Chamber Orchestra, New England Symphonic Ensemble, Moscow Chamber Orchestra and the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra.<\/p>\n<p>Mark has presented solo recitals at Trinity Church @ Wall Street; The Cathedral of St. John the Divine; and other concert halls throughout the metropolitan area.\u00a0 He is often a substitute player for Broadway shows, has recorded for Koch International Records and the Smithsonian Institute,\u00a0 and is also a founding member of the chamber ensemble Pastiche, which won the Artists International Chamber Music Award and presented their successful Carnegie Hall debut in the 1999- 2000 season.<\/p>\n<p>Mark began his musical studies at the Pennsylvania Governor\u2019s School for the Arts and received his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Connecticut and Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music.\u00a0 In December of 2005, Mark completed the Doctor of Musical Arts degree, studying with Matthew Sullivan, at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.\u00a0 He has also studied with Joseph Robinson, Keisuke Wakao, Ronald Roseman and Sandy Consiglio and has attended the Penn&#8217;s Woods Music Festival and the C.W.
