Registration is $30 and the event is open to the public. The conference will begin at 8 a.m. with a continental breakfast in the Science Building Atrium, and will run to 5 p.m. with presentations from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.allgov.com\/departments\/department-of-commerce\/national-weather-service?agencyid=7140\">National Weather Service<\/a>, various weather predictors and modelers, the independent science and journalism organization <a href=\"http:\/\/www.climatecentral.org\/\">Climate Central<\/a>, a freelance storm chaser and more.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe background of the attendees is as diverse as a year\u2019s worth of New England weather extremes,\u201d said Gary Lessor, assistant to the director of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/pam\/meteorology\/\">Meteorological Studies and Weather Center<\/a> at Western.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the conference is to improve education, professional development and communication among private and public sector meteorologists, researchers, educators, students, emergency management officials and weather enthusiasts.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year,\u201d Lessor said, \u201cwe are fortunate to welcome back to Danbury two of the most highly accomplished individuals in the field: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nws.noaa.gov\/com\/presentations\/uccellini.htm\">Dr. Louis Uccellini<\/a>, director of the National Weather Service, and Connecticut native <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eoas.fsu.edu\/people\/faculty\/dr-robert-hart\">Dr. Robert Hart<\/a> of Florida State University, who specializes in tropical meteorology.
