DANBURY, CONN. <\/strong>\u2014 Western Connecticut State University<\/a> will hold its 119th Commencement at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2017<\/strong>, at the Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport. This is the third consecutive year that the ceremony will take place at the Fairfield County venue.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s commencement exercises will feature the award of degrees to 1,263 undergraduate candidates, 112 master\u2019s degree candidates and eight doctoral candidates from the Ed.D. in Instructional Leadership<\/a> program.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Graduating senior Madiha Khan<\/a>, of Danbury, will deliver the Keynote Address. During the ceremony, Khan will receive a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry, Biochemistry option. She is one of two WCSU students to receive this year\u2019s Connecticut State Colleges and Universities Henry Barnard Distinguished Student Award<\/a>. Presidential Medals will be awarded to WCSU alumnus Attorney Robert Yamin<\/a> and Danbury Probate Judge Hon. Dianne Yamin<\/a>, partners in Yamin & Yamin LLP<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The ceremony will be streamed at www.wcsu.edu\/live<\/a> and broadcast on campus radio station WXCI at 91.7 FM.<\/p>\n
