The university and the WCSU Foundation offer nearly 100 scholarships  every year, and the need for financial support is ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p> \u201cWe count on the  community supporting the ball to help us help students,\u201d said Dr. G. Koryoe  Anim-Wright, the university\u2019s vice president of Institutional Advancement. \u201cit  is our largest annual fundraiser, and besides being important for that reason,  it is also a fun evening. We still have seats available and we are expecting  this year\u2019s ball will be the best yet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p> May 3 is the  date of this year\u2019s ball, at which WestConn will recognize Tony and Roberta  Caraluzzi for their family\u2019s contributions to the university and Greater  Danbury communities. This year\u2019s ball theme, \u201cEscape to Tuscany,\u201d will  highlight an evening program of fine dining, dancing and a silent auction to  raise academic enrichment and scholarship funds for the WCSU Foundation. Tony  Caraluzzi Jr. serves as a member of the WCSU Foundation Board. <\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>Many  community-minded individuals and corporations are supporting this year\u2019s ball  with sponsorships and donations, including Isabelle Farrington, Boehringer  Ingelheim Corp, Danbury Hospital, Union Savings Bank, The Morganti Group, Ethan  Allen Interiors Inc., Pepsi Bottling Group, KPMG, the WCSU Alumni Association,  JetBlue Airways, and the Caraluzzi family.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>The 2008  University Ball will begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, in the Feldman Arena  of the O\u2019Neill Convocation Center on the university\u2019s Westside campus, Lake  Avenue Extension in Danbury.
