The event will be free and open to WestConn students, alumni, faculty and staff.

The CDC organizes the annual event to enable WestConn graduate and undergraduate students and alumni to discuss opportunities with prospective employers for full-time, part-time and summer work in a diversity of fields, as well as coop and internship positions. The fair has helped hundreds of WestConn students to gain employment, among them senior Edmund Breitling, who attended the Career Fair last year.

“It’s awesome!” Breitling said. “I got two internships working at Cartus in two different departments. It’s a fair for college students, so the employers aren’t looking for a lot of experienced people. They were looking for us as much as we were looking for them.”

With more than 50 companies, government agencies and nonprofit organizations represented at the fair, students will find a wide variety of employers in professional fields ranging from pharmaceuticals and manufacturing to banking and law enforcement.

“I though it provided a great opportunity to network with companies that I would want to get fully involved with after graduation,” WestConn senior John Ready said. “They seemed to show a genuine interest in the students. I’m definitely going back this year!”

WestConn senior Rachel Teodosio will be attending the fair for the first time. “I’m planning to attend the Career Fair because I think it will be a great opportunity to get my resume out to several companies that I may not have been aware of otherwise,” she said. “I like the idea of the fair being at a university because you know you’re pretty much on the same level as everyone else there submitting their resumes. This type of career fair gives students a better chance at getting a job or internship.”

The CDC advises all attendees to bring an ample supply of resumes to submit to employer representatives, and to “dress for success.”

For more information, call the CDC at (203) 837-8263.

DANBURY, CONN. — Western Connecticut State University students preparing for commencement and beginning to explore post-graduation job options will have the opportunity to meet with more than 50 employers at WestConn’s 13th annual Career Fair on …

["post-1192","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
["GET
