The public is invited. Performances will be at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 6, and at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 7, 8 and 9. There will be a matinee at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9, and another at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 10. Tickets will be $15 for adults, and $10 for seniors and students. Call (203) 837-TIXX or go to www.wcsu.edu\/tickets.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>Beane\u2019s play opened in New York in June 1997 to critical acclaim and earned the playwright an Outer Critics Circle Award for his writing.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<br \/>\n  Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts Erik Tonner, the show\u2019s director, explained the play\u2019s premise.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018As Bees in Honey Drown\u2019 tells the story of Evan Wyler, a 20-something writer, who captures the attention of the mysterious Alexa Vere de Vere with his newly published novel. Alexa wants Evan to write the screenplay of her life story. Evan gets caught up Alexa\u2019s world of fame and fortune. But once Evan, who is gay, convinces himself he loves Alexa, she disappears, leaving him with all the bills and Armani suits to pay for.  Trying to find Alexa, Evan discovers a chain of people whom she has taken for a ride and discovers she has no money, no job, no life of her own \u2014 only the one she has created for herself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>The cast will include Jessica Costello, of East Haven, as Alexa Vere de Vere; Michael Grispin, of Mahopac, N.Y., as Evan Wyler; Bobby Morrison, of Danbury, as Ronald\/Skunk\/Mike; Jason Nolan, of Stratford, as Swen\/Kaden; Christina Kalafut, of East Haven, as Carla\/Denise\/Illya\/<br \/>&#013;<br \/>\n  Muse; and Samantha Curtis, of Redding, as Amber\/Ginny\/Bethany\/Muse. <\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>The crew will include Sal Trapani as producer, Tonner as director, Frank Herbert as technical director, Elizabeth Popiel as set designer, Jessica Camarero as costume designer and Mel Ryan as production stage manager.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>For tickets and information, call (203) 837-TIXX or visit www.wcsu.edu\/tickets.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><em>Western Connecticut State University offers outstanding faculty in a range of quality academic programs.
