DANBURY, CONN. <\/strong>\u2014 Western Connecticut State University<\/a> will host a panel discussion led by local experts, scholars and activists, on issues concerning autism at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2013<\/strong>, in Room 101 of Warner Hall on the university\u2019s Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. The public is invited.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Discussions will be centered on access challenges, services needed and offensive portrayals of autistic people. Opinions of both mental health professionals and autistic rights activists will be heard. The panel will begin by asking panelists a series of questions and giving each panelist a chance to express his or her point of view, followed by an audience question-and-answer session.<\/p>\n
