DANBURY, CONN. <\/strong>\u2014 On Aug. 3, 1963, a month after recording \u201cShe Loves You,\u201d The Beatles performed at Liverpool\u2019s legendary Cavern Club for the very last time. It was their 292nd appearance at the club and they received a fee of \u00a3300 for the gig.<\/p>\n

Beginning at noon on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of this historic occasion, thousands of fans will \u201cCome Together\u201d for a day-long festival of Beatles music at Ives Concert Park on the Western Connecticut State University<\/a> Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury.<\/p>\n

The second annual \u201cDanbury Fields Forever\u201d music, arts and food festival, themed \u201cGive Peace a Chance\u201d in tribute to John Lennon\u2019s iconic ode against violence, will feature 10 bands, each representing different eras or presentations of Beatles music. An entire-day \u201cticket to ride\u201d admission starts at $20. Tickets are available at beatlesmusicfestival.eventbrite.com<\/a>. One hundred percent of the net proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Newtown Parks & Recreation\u2019s Dickinson Memorial Playground Fund<\/a>, with the first $2 from each ticket sold going to Hearst Corp.\u2019s Newspapers in Education<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Food and beverages will be available for purchase. There also will be music\/memorabilia vendors and exhibits, plus family-friendly features such as face-painting and inflatables for kids. Featured acts will include several regional and national acts, with special tributes to John Lennon and George Harrison<\/p>\n

Liverpool Productions, host of \u201cDanbury Fields Forever,\u201d has presented Beatles Expos in Connecticut and other areas since 1978. They also organize the annual \u201cMagical History Tour,\u201d which brings fans to Liverpool and London.<\/p>\n
