\"ImageDANBURY, CONN. <\/strong>\u2014 Western Connecticut State University<\/a> Assistant Professor of Music Jamie Begian<\/a> will serve as the interim dean of the School of Visual and Performing Arts<\/a> (SVPA) beginning July 1, 2015.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

After 25 years in progressive leadership at WCSU, the SVPA Dean Dr. Dan Goble<\/a> is leaving the university to accept a position as the director of the School of Music, Theater and Dance at Colorado State University in Fort Collins.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Begian, who also serves as chair of the Department of Music<\/a> and Jazz Studies Progra<\/a>m coordinator, has been a full-time faculty member at the university since 2005.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

As an educator, Begian has a long track record of dedicated involvement in the development and progress of his students. Enthusiastic about music and dedicated to his craft, Begian commands attention in a variety of settings, making him an excellent candidate to lead the SVPA until a new dean has been selected.<\/p>\n
